Your challenge

Create a total packaging concept to sell chocolate in-store!

Think beyond the actual package!  Create a total packaging concept that works from the chocolate manufacturer, to the warehouse, into the retail store and all the way to the end consumer.  Read the full Design Challenge Invitation

Who can participate

YOU! All students, design schools & non-professional packaging designers resident in a European country are invited to compete. You can either participate in a group or as an individual.

We accept only one entry per candidate/ group.  Designers who are working already within the packaging industry cannot participate.

Meet the jury

Your work will be assessed by well-established designers from the industry.

Top designers from our biggest clients and the SCA Packaging Head of Design will review your work and challenge your concept.

Winners

First price will win € 3000 and an internship at the SCA Packaging Innovation Centre in Brussels or Design Centres across Europe.  For places 2 to 5 we reserve € 1000 each.

Work with the professionals: in December 2008, five concept designs will be short-listed and have the opportunity to develop and fine-tune their concept together with professional designers of SCA Packaging.

Get on the shortlist, then come and present your design to our top world brands at our design challenge award event at the SCA Packaging Innovation Centre in March 2009.

Registration

The SCA Packaging Design Challenge 2008 will run between September 2008 and March 2009. Submission will be closed by 5th December 2008.

You need to register in order to receive a complete brief. After you have received your brief you will have time to research, explore and develop your proposal. Once the deadline for submission has passed, the jury will start with a pre-selection process.
